Herschend Offers Support to Child Sex Offender

It's a tale as old as time, and if you know anything about the Ozarks region of Missouri you already know that the area is the backdrop of some very unsettling stories - Such as the missing Springfield Three. There's also the horrifying death of Cassidy Rainwater, a story with more twists and turns than a west coast highway. And then there are stories that never seem to really see the light of justice, such as the geezer who was caught with more than 100,000 pornographic images of children, an old fart by the name of William M. Walker.

Walker, who was 75 years old in 2018, was said to be a"respected member of the Branson community," was arrested on federal charges of possessing child pornography. I don't mean cartoon parodies or Hentai. Police were as equally shocked as they were disgusted when the evidence presented itself.

Police authorities discovered that Walker had downloaded more you're about to be infuriated. Two well known members of the community took the stand at Walker's trial as character witnesses:James River Church's Pastor Jack Smart and Silver Dollar City Co-Founder Pete Herschend.

Gag me with a fucking spoon.

Herschend told Judge Doug Harpool that Walker had "changed" since his arrest and now "exuded qualities of the Boy Scout Law: being brave, trustworthy, and revanent." Pastor Smart went on to testify that Walker had "received treatment through James River Church." Since when the fuck is a church licensed to treat sex offenders?

Judge Harpool took more pity on Walker than he deserved by taking into account that Walker's "fragile health, past military service, and good deeds performed."

What about the fragile health and destroyed potential of all those children, Judge Harpool?
